Additional Information
Gordon Vella is a licensed and certified general real estate appraiser in three states, but his real estate experience goes much deeper than simple certification. Vella earned his degree in Education and Social Science from the University of Nebraska, but his professional career went down a dramatically different path.
Gordon Vella began his climb to the industry’s upper echelon in 1994, when he joined the real estate valuation firm Joseph J. Blake & Associates. Vella worked as a Senior Appraiser for the company for eight years, helping lead the valuation of numerous real estate assets throughout the Midwestern United States. In 2002, Vella left Joseph J. Blake & Associates to become Vice President of CB Richard Ellis, a prestigious Chicago real estate valuation company that serves numerous global customers and top end properties. During his tenure as Vice President, Vella championed the valuation of Chicago’s most prominent properties, including both Prudential Towers, and the USG and ATT towers. Gordon Vella worked for Richard Ellis for five years, and in 2007 he left his VP position to become Director and Practice Leader at Stout Risius Ross, another top-tier Chicago real estate valuation firm. Gordon Vella manages a global staff for Stout Risius Ross, and helps ensure that the firm is well represented in the world real estate investment market. In addition to his international assignments, Vella has completed important valuation work across 22 states in less than two years of service for the firm.
Vella’s busy work schedule doesn’t stop him from contributing to both community and philanthropic projects, in addition to his support of charities like the Spina Bifida Association and the Red Cross March of Dimes, Gordon Vela volunteers to teach adult literacy, an important but often thankless endeavor. Gordon Vella is also a member of several important professional organizations, including the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, The Appraisal Institute, and the Capitol Region Education Council.
